Specializing in Helping People Overcome Brain and Mental Health Conditions

Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback is an enjoyable, painless, and extremely effective training program that is used to improve and treat disorders of the brain and the central nervous system, including ADD/ADHD, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, stroke, seizures, involuntary tics, tinnitus, coordination and mobility problems, insomnia, cognitive deficits, focus and concentration issues, headaches and migraines, pain, and other problems.  Neurofeedback trains our brain to stabilize irregular brainwave patterns that have caused mental health symptoms.  Once our brain learns to regulate and stabilize its brainwave patterns, the effects and improvement in symptoms are usually permanent.  Neurofeedback is like an exercise for our brain just as weight lifting and yoga are exercises for our muscles.

Neurofeedback training usually consists of the client watching a movie or listening to music while sensors are attached to their forehead with gel.

These sensors provide real-time feedback on the client's brainwave activity. When the client's brainwave activity changes in the direction that is desired by the neurofeedback training protocol, a positive "reward" is given to the individual via the movie or music and the brain learns to keep that brainwave firing at its optimal speed.  Neurofeedback can either help train the client's brain to speed up or slow down certain brain waves so that they'll fire at optimal patterns, and this helps to permanently improve or eliminate the client's symptoms.

Nutrition
Nutritional Therapy

Many people don't realize how important nutrition is to brain health and well-being.  Just like every other organ in our body, our brain requires certain micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) and macronutrients (fats and proteins) in order to function properly.

In addition to becoming malnourished, the brain can also become inflamed just like other parts of our body.  A malnourished and inflamed brain has a very difficult time regulating our thoughts, emotions, and behavior, and this is often a major contributing factor to people developing mental health or neurological problems such as ADD/ADHD, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, hyperactivity, chronic stress, and fatigue.

Life Health & Wellness specializes in helping our clients utilize optimal nutrition so that their brains can be properly nourished, supported, and strengthened.  Many people have significantly improved their emotional and mental health, reduced or eliminated their symptoms, lowered their stress levels, and increased their energy levels by removing inflammatory, processed foods from their diet and by focusing on eating properly-prepared real, nutrient-dense whole foods.

Our nutritional therapy services are available in person, by phone, or by video chat, so this service is available to you no matter where you live.

Psychiatric
Psychiatric Services and Medication Management

Managing mental health is an ongoing and sometimes complex process, and our main goal is to try to help our clients improve their symptoms in a holistic, non-pharmaceutical manner that addresses the root cause of the symptoms so that our clients can experience long-term improvements in their health, mood, and functioning.  However, in certain situations, medication is a necessary component of treatment. Through psychiatric care at Life Health & Wellness, if needed, an experienced psychiatrist will carefully evaluate your condition and identify whether medication is right for you, what type will best serve you, and in what quantity. No two plans look exactly the same -- it all depends on the individual.
