A 31-year-old Caucasian male who lived alone was depressed, had lost all of his motivation, had difficulty concentrating, and frequent mood swings. His natural parents were separated when he was 21 years old. His father was severely physically abusive to him when he was a child. He had a history of drug abuse but was not using drugs when he entered therapy.
After therapy his depression and mood swings had disappeared and he was able to have a positive relationship with his father. He had learned to set appropriate boundaries with peers and his father and his motivation had improved to the point that he was being more successful in his business.
