Therapy success story - woman with depression and dysphoria
Client is a 25-year-old female who presented as dysphoric, having multiple serious medical conditions and a learning disability, co-dependent family members, and conflicting familiar communication arrangements. Tiffany* was sad, irritable, had difficulty sleeping, had irregular sleeping habits, acted and dressed childish at times as reported by her parents, and would sometimes let daily hygiene suffer at the disgust of her younger sister.
Her therapist Arlene Kauffman worked with Tiffany to manage the symptoms of her depression, define attainable goals, and adopt a positive attitude. Tiffany previously described her depression as a "cloak". After several months, she described it as a "handbag" she occasionally takes out.
